HBO Taunts Mayweather During Pacquiao vs. Margarito

The greatest coward in boxing history Floyd Mayweather Jr. was taunted during the HBO pay-per-view telecast of the Pacquiao-Margarito superfight in Dallas.

During the post-fight wrap up, on-air conversation between Jim Lampley and Max Kellerman, a very interesting exchange took place between the two HBO announcers…

Lampley stated,”So years from now we’ll say we know Mayweather was a genius. He waited for Pacquiao to fight five bigger guys. He watched him fight a guy who is seventeen pounds larger.
Maybe he’ll take the fight (with Pacquiao) next week?”

Kellerman responded with a chuckle, which made Lampley smile himself.

To which Kellerman added, with a tone of amusement in his voice, “We’ll seeeee!”

It was quality commentating by the HBO team. One of the female viewers at our fight party named Lynn, a long time boxing fan, remarked after the Lampley-Kellerman exchange, “They’re taunting him now.”

Well, one reader has a piece of advise for Floyd Mayweather Jr.: “Pacman is way out of your league man. He is a public servant now as a congressman in his hometown. That person you used to call a midget is even a bigger person than you are now. He is serving his country. And you, you can’t even serve your own wife and family. So please, stop trash talking and nobody will ever bother you again. Just live with a fact that you are indeed, the Best…. the Best Chicken in the world.”

So, did the victory of Pacquiao against Magarito proved another best?

The Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed

All Souls’ Day is celebrated by the Church on 2 November, or, if this be a Sunday or a solemnity, on 3 November. The Office of the Dead must be recited by the clergy and all the Masses are to be of Requiem, except one of the current feast, where this is of obligation.

Catholic Doctrine on Purgatory

Purgatory (Lat., “purgare”, to make clean, to purify) in accordance with Catholic teaching is a place or condition of temporal punishment for those who, departing this life in God’s grace, are, not entirely free from venial faults, or have not fully paid the satisfaction due to their transgressions.

The faith of the Church concerning purgatory is clearly expressed in the Decree of Union drawn up by the Council of Florence (Mansi, t. XXXI, col. 1031), and in the decree of the Council of Trent which (Sess. XXV) defined:

Whereas the Catholic Church, instructed by the Holy Ghost, has from the Sacred Scriptures and the ancient tradition of the Fathers taught in Councils and very recently in this Ecumenical synod (Sess. VI, cap. XXX; Sess. XXII cap.ii, iii) that there is a purgatory, and that the souls therein are helped by the suffrages of the faithful, but principally by the acceptable Sacrifice of the Altar; the Holy Synod enjoins on the Bishops that they diligently endeavor to have the sound doctrine of the Fathers in Councils regarding purgatory everywhere taught and preached, held and believed by the faithful” (Denzinger, “Enchiridon”, 983).(www.newadvent.org/cathen)
